LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska's first in-season injury struck Thursday night in Kansas City.

Nebraska Head Coach Matt Rhule announced Monday that wide receiver Janiran Bonner is out for the year with a torn ACL, suffered on a play in the fourth quarter.

Rhule says Bonner's loss will be felt both on and off the field.

"It's a tremendous loss on the field, plays on all special teams... He's a wideout, running back, full back, tight end," Rhule said. "I'm sure he'll continue to inspire his teammates with his attitude and I know how much he means to everybody."

In 2024, Bonner caught 11 passes for 67 yards and one touchdown while also rushing for a score
