Madison County Board of Commissioners passes fiscal year budget of over 50 million dollars

NORFOLK,Neb.- The start of the fall season is filled with new budgets. The Madison County Board of Commissioners unanimously passed the total budget for the fiscal year 2025-2026 Tuesday morning. 

The commissioners approved the budget 3-0 for around $51 millions dollars.

The commissioners didn’t budget enough for the 911 Communication Center last year. This year, they increased that line item by $20,000.

The board of commissioners approved lowering the budget levy for the county to  0.307  percent, being the lowest since 1990.
