Norfolk City Council green lights a project aimed at boosting business for downtown property owners.

Under the plan, a full-time manager will be hired to draw more visitors and bolster local businesses.

City officials confirm, no city funds will be used. 

The estimated 75-thousand dollar budget will come from assessments on properties within the Business Improvement District.

According to city officials, this initiative marks a significant move toward revitalizing downtown Norfolk.
