Norfolk, NE – Northeast Nebraska welcomes Melissa Figueroa as its new city attorney, following the Norfolk City Council's recent appointment. Figueroa succeeds Danielle Myers-Noelle, who transitioned from her role to establish a private law practice and dedicate more time to family.

Figueroa, who assumed the role of interim attorney in July 2025 and collaborated closely with Myers-Noelle, brings a wealth of experience to the position. Her background includes serving as a Business Resource Specialist for the Norfolk Area Economic Development Council.

"I extend my sincere thanks to the mayor, city council, city administrator, and the entire Norfolk community for entrusting me with this opportunity to serve as the Norfolk City Attorney," Figueroa stated. "I am grateful to have chosen this community to establish my roots, and I eagerly anticipate continuing my service in this capacity."

Figueroa will remain the interim attorney until her official appointment as the city attorney on January 16th.
