OGALLALA, Neb. — The Sidney wrestling team placed fourth Saturday at the 2026 Ogallala Dual Wrestling Tournament.

Alliance claimed the team title by edging Mitchell 35-34 in the championship dual. Mitchell placed second, followed by Gothenburg in third and Sidney in fourth. Sutherland defeated Ogallala 37-36 for fifth place, and Mullen topped Chase County 30-24 to take seventh.

Sidney’s tournament run ended with a 46-36 loss to Gothenburg in the third-place dual. Gothenburg built its advantage with falls at 132, 144, 126 and 106 pounds, along with technical fall victories at 157 and 120.

Sidney earned wins from Romain Ryder at 138, Hayden Sittner at 150 by forfeit, Zech Roggasch at 165 by forfeit, Cayson Boltjes at 215 by fall in 26 seconds, Sebastian Serkiz at 285 by fall, and Rylan Swope at 113 by forfeit.

Individually, Sidney was led by Zech Roggasch and Cayson Boltjes, who both finished the tournament with perfect 5-0 records. Matthew Corne also had a strong showing, going 4-0 in his matches.

Other dual records for Sidney included Kollin Roggasch at 4-1, Rylan Swope at 3-2, Bentley Gilbert at 3-2 and Hayden Sittner at 3-2.
