STANTON, Neb. -- Two juveniles were arrested Friday after reports of a robbery and physical attack in northeast Nebraska.

At about 8:30 p.m. Friday night, the Stanton County Sheriff's Office reported to the scene in the Sherwood Park area of Woodland Park after reports of a "strong-arm robbery."

According to reports, a 14-year-old boy was jumped and assaulted before two males wearing black facemasks took his personal property and money.

The suspects reportedly fled on foot and were later observed on video shoplifting at the Lil Store in Woodland Park, according to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger. Approximately 45 minutes later, both were taken into custody after reports from citizens that the pair was hiding near residences in Woodland Park.

Both juvenile suspects were arrested on charges of assault, theft and disturbing the peace.

The stolen property was recovered from the suspects. Both suspects were released to their respective parents. Formal charges are pending, Unger said.
