Cam Amen's life story to be released in segments starting in June

Norfolk resident, Cam Amen, announced at the end of May that he is releasing the story of his life.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- Norfolk resident, Cam Amen, announced at the end of May that he is releasing the story of his life.

The world first heard his story when he appeared on the 2023 season of American Idol. 

Amen's life story "I am, I can, I will: A survivor's story" has a release date for the audio of the first chapter on June 10, 2023. Release dates will soon follow.

After getting the platinum ticket for his rendition of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, bypassing the first Hollywood round, and eventually being eliminated before the Top 26.

On the show, Amen talked about being taken away from his mom, his first time in the foster care system, and becoming the legal guardian of his siblings at 18. He raised his siblings until they were old enough to be on their own. 

A press release stated that Amen has his eyes set on returning to American Idol for the next season.
