NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Norfolk Police Division said they arrested an Albion woman on Friday for a DUI.

NPD said on Friday around 7:45 p.m., they were called to a parking lot on Norfolk Ave. for a woman who appeared to be under the influence. 

The caller reported seeing the 29-year-old woman had just thrown several empty bottles of alcohol away in a trash can. 

Police said the caller gave a description of the woman and the car she was in. 

When officers arrived, the found the vehicle and spoke with the driver. 

NPD said while speaking with her, they had her perform filed sobriety maneuvers, and they indicated impairment. 

The woman was arrested for first-offense DUI. 

In a following search, NPD officers said they found one oxycodone pill from her purse. Police said that she didn't have a prescription for the medication. 

The woman was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance. 

She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
