NORFOLK, Neb. - Northeast Nebraska get ready to dig in to a full plate of arts and food.

The Norfolk Arts Center is returning Fork Fest for its 11th year. 5th St. will be closed for the event, which is highlighting local food, artists and live music in the area.

Arts Center Marketing director Jon Dohmen says over 20 local artists will be showcasing their art for sale, but his favorite part of the event are the musical grooves.

“I’d say it’s the live music, I'm really into music and just seeing people perform and kinda just put their passion out there for everyone to enjoy,"said Dohmen. "You know it’s a vulnerable place and I really enjoy and appreciate that in the art form.”

The free event will feature four different bands from 12-8pm. The center will also open its doors for anyone one wanting to check out its exhibits.

For Dohmen, Fork Fest is still trying to spread the same message in Norfolk.

“For the most part it’s still the same old tried and true, just trying to get the arts out in the Community.”

The arts center says a beer garden will be open for adults. Kids are encouraged to use the arts center’s supply of crafts and enter a chalk drawing contest.
