Animals at the Library! Wildlife Encounters comes to Norfolk

NORFOLK, Neb.-- Visitors of the library in Norfolk got a different experience than just books on Saturday.
Wildlife Encounters from Gretna brought in six animals from all around the world to show to guests.
Animals from a bearded dragon named Sunny all the way to a baby kangaroo named Lucy made an appearance at the library.
Kids and adults got the chance to learn about and touch the wildlife.
Educator Jillian Lenz says the kids bring the light to the programs.
"I love to get to see their reactions, because some of these animals we haven't even seen or heard before," Lenz said. "So just getting to see how interested they are in seeing these animals. And especially at our library programs they might be able to go find a book and they can learn some more about some of these animals as well. Just getting to see their reactions and how involved they want to be with the animals is one of my favorite things."
Wildlife encounters is an educational wildlife refuge and rescue. A lot of their animals come from captivity and are not able to be put back out into the wild.
Lucy is being cared for at the facility for a short time before she goes back to her zoo in Minnesota.
