WAYNE, Neb.-- Less than two weeks after two prominent Wayne State football players hit the transfer portal, they’ve announced where they’ll be landing.

Carter Sitzman, a junior defensive lineman from Lincoln, and Jes Krcil, a sophomore linebacker from Iowa, will both be moving up in divisions to South Dakota State University.

Sitzman, a three-year starter for Wayne takes a storied career with him. He’s been named a two time First Team All-NSIC member, a preseason All-American, the preseason NSIC Player of the Year, and the 2024 Wayne State Male Athlete of the Year.

He played in 27 games for the Wildcats in his three years, totaling 39 career solo tackles and 99 tackles.

Krcil, although younger than Sitzman, still has stats to backup his commitment. He leaves with the awards of First Team All-Conference and First-Team All-Region.

He played in 15 games and added 46 solo tackles for the Wildcats with 97 total tackles.

The two announced their commitments on Twitter on December 13.
