STANTON, Neb. -- On May 9th, at approximately 4:00 PM, the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to an injury accident involving a teenage driver south of Hoskins.

According to Sheriff Mike Unger, the vehicle "lost control and struck a large tree, trapping the driver. The individual was extricated from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life and subsequently transported to Faith Regional Health Services with serious to critical injuries. It is believed that the use of seatbelts and the deployment of airbags were crucial in saving the driver's life."

Assisting at the scene were the Hoskins Woodland Park Fire and Rescue Department, along with the Stanton County Emergency Management vehicle.
