Continental Confirms Planned Sale of ContiTech; plans to keep Norfolk plant operational

NORFOLK, Neb. - An international company that operates a manufacturing facility in Norfolk could soon be selling off the division that runs the plant.

 

According to recent announcements from Continental AG, the company has confirmed its plan to sell its ContiTech group sector. The sale is scheduled to take place in 2026.

 

The Lincoln and Norfolk plants are part of the ContiTech division, which Continental acquired in 2015 when it purchased Veyance Technologies and are included in the planned divestment.

 

The Norfolk plant, which underwent a $9.3 million dollar renovation in 2018, makes rubber hoses and employs 300 people in the community. Americas ContiTech Regional Spokesperson Paul Flake, denies any rumors suggesting that the plant will shut down.

 

“The Norfolk plant remains a vital part of ContiTech’s manufacturing footprint in the region and plays a critical role in our ability to meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said Flake. “Our employees in Norfolk have consistently demonstrated excellence, dedication, and hard work, contributing significantly to the success of our business and the strength of our supply chain.”

 

The sale is expected to take time, finishing around the end of 2026.
