Amazon expands Nebraska footprint with new facilities

Nebraska. — Amazon is growing its presence in Nebraska, with a new delivery station now open in Omaha and plans for three additional facilities in Gering, North Platte, and Columbus slated to open by late fall 2025.

The expansion is part of Amazon's broader investment in improving delivery speeds in smaller communities across the U.S. The company has invested $1.3 billion in Nebraska since 2010, creating over 3,500 full- and part-time jobs.

"This is great news for customers across the state of Nebraska, as they will receive faster delivery for their packages," said Amazon Economic Development Manager Jason Vangalis. He also noted the job growth in Omaha, Gering, Columbus, and North Platte.

The new facilities are expected to create more than 300 full- and part-time jobs. Amazon's U.S. customer fulfillment and transportation employees earn an average of more than $22 per hour nationally.

Delivery stations are a key part of Amazon's order process, speeding up deliveries by facilitating the last mile. Packages are transported to delivery stations from Amazon Fulfillment and Sortation Centers, loaded into delivery vehicles, and then delivered to customers.

Nebraska facilities details:

• Omaha Delivery Station: Opened September 2025. It is 140,000 square feet and is located at 8376 N 72nd St, Omaha, NE 68122.
• Gering Delivery Station: Opening in late fall 2025. It will be 16,000 square feet and will be located at 1455 Country Club Road Gering, NE 69341.
• Columbus Delivery Station: Opening in late fall 2025. It is 49,000 square feet and is located at 1111 45th Street Columbus, NE 68601.
• North Platte Delivery Station: Opening in late fall 2025. It is 34,000 square feet and is located at 4415 Business Park Drive North Platte, NE 69101.
